SOLAR LANDSCAPING LIGHTS ARE NOW HIGH QUALITY AND VERSATILE ENOUGH FOR ANY OUTDOOR LANDSCAPING APPLICATION
Decorative outside lighting is becoming a key part of homeowner landscaping. No longer are consumers using light only for safety and security. Nighttime lighting of the landscape is now evolving into beautification of the property. Solar lights come in a variety of sizes, shapes and styles that will fulfill just about any application required. Solar lights are not as bright as standard low voltage landscape lighting. But for most applications they have more than enough illumination. A standard solar florescent bulb equates to a 25-watt incandescent version. LED bulbs are very bright and lose no energy to heat. Many solar lights contain multiple LED bulbs for a brighter effect. Solar lights are cheaper to use over time but are just as beautiful as any other lighting productThe obvious advantage to using solar lights is the easy installation and the environmental effect of using renewable energy and having zero electrical cost to run them. The negative is that they are a bit more expensive to buy than low voltage lights, although over time they are much cheaper. But they come in as many styles and shapes as any other type of landscaping light. Solar patio lights, solar pool lights, solar powered pathway lights and flood lights, post lights and even solar powered dock lights are some examples of these versatile products. A couple of years ago solar lighting products did not get good reviews – they weren’t bright enough and they didn’t last long enough (only a couple of hours usually). But today some models are bright enough that you can read by them and most models will last at least through the entire period of darkness before needing to recharge. And placed properly, they transform the nighttime landscape into a soft, warm and beautiful ambiance.
