If you live in northern latitudes, you probably won’t get a charge long enough to last the full period of darkness in winter, although solar lighting will operate in any temperature.
It is probably a good idea not to go for the cheapest models around. You get what you pay for and products under $20.00 are not likely to last very long. However, quality solar pathway and landscaping lights will last for years and years without maintenance or replacement.
