Splash a Little Color on the Landscape with LED Lighting
With beautiful flowing streams alongside the verdant radiance of the plants you have spent
so much time and effort cultivating, a cool mist enshrouds your landscape. Yet you can’t see a single bit of
it.
Light are important additions to your landscape if you want to expand the amount of time you can truly enjoy the
scenery. Of course there are the simple utilitarian lights such as HPS flood lights and LED lighting for pathways
but there is so much more that can be done with just a little thought.
I propose that garden and landscape lighting should be for more than merely seeing. LED grow lights come in a wide variety of colors that can be used as accents to
the plants and elements you have on your property. These colors can be easily changed throughout the year to
reflect the seasons and to highlight them. Use warm colors in the summer that complement the flowers they fall
on. Avoid contradictory colors or else everything will just look brown.
This is the reason that red is not a good idea as it is the natural contradiction to green. Green is a color
that has a tendency to crop up in gardens from time to time.
During the winter, when your perennials go into dormancy and your garden is dusted with a blanket of snow and
ice, bring out the cold colors and turn your property into a winter wonderland. You can even play with the blank
slate that the pure white snow can be and use playful colors that dance around. With the right lighting setup you
can program color shows that swirl and flow. If you plan to do this you really need LED lighting since it offers the most colors, highest programmability, fastest cycling
between on and off and their efficiency is not affected by low temperatures or repeatedly being turned on and
off like many other lighting solutions.
Why only enjoy your landscape during the summer and for only a few hours a day? With the right lighting
solutions you can get a lot more out of your hard work.
